My bf had already been to Shin Tian before but this is actually my first time here. We were once planning to eat here together when they suddenly closed down. Fortunately, we learned that they didn’t really closed down but just transferred to the new 238 Banawe building.

A quick comparison of their old and new place from the outside will tell you how their new place is definitely an upgrade from their previous. I’m attaching some of the pictures inside Shin Tian as well.

So far, we were able to try 3 of their dishes already: Steamed Hito (Php 350.00), Beef Tenderloin (Php 450.00) and Spinach Garlic (Php 180.00). For the rice, we always go for their Garlic Fried Rice (Php 170.00) since it’s bf’s favorite.

The Steamed Hito is tasty and is not bland. The sauce is a little bit salty for my preference but it’s still within my salt-o-meter. The Garlic Fried Rice is definitely not your typical garlic rice. It’s like a garlic rice with a hint of kiampeng (Chinese fried rice). Please take note that an order of garlic rice can actually be good to 3-4 persons. In fact, we weren’t able to finish our food and so we have to take-out our leftovers.

The Beef Tenderloin is good. Its sauce has just the right amount of sweetness. The beef is tender although there are some that is a little tough to chew.

The Spinach Garlic is appetizing and is a good partner with the Beef Tenderloin.

Overall, my rating for Shin Tian is 6.5 out of 10. It’s definitely not the best restaurant out there but it’s something you must try. If you want to eat a heavy meal, then go for Shin Tian. The price is so-so: not too expensive, not too cheap. The place also looks clean and the waiters are nice and attentive. The only thing I find them lacking is that they don’t have their own toilet inside their restaurant. You have to use the shared toilet of the building if you want to go a toilet.
