My boyfriend introduced Meat Depot to me after learning it from his family. I’ve always thought that it’s only an ordinary premium butcher shop. I never knew that you can actually buy a meat there and have it cook on the spot. It’s like a mini meat version of Seaside Macapagal’s dampa. Their cooking service is available from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 10:30 PM.
Meat Depot has 2 floors. The 1st floor is for those who just want to buy a meat and take it home. The meats here are frozen and cannot be cooked on the spot.
And so we went to the 2nd floor. This is where the magic happens. Lol! At the corner of the 2nd floor are the selections of meat where you can choose your own meat. The meat prices vary depending on the type, weight and cut of the meat. My boyfriend and I decided to go for a Rib-eye (0.496 kg @ Php 763.84) since we wanted to have a steak.
After filling out their form, you can now proceed to the counter to have your selected meat cooked. 😀 The cooking fee is only Php 100.00. You can buy an extra rice for Php 30.00.
Tada! And here’s our steak! Their steak is good and juicy. I wanted to capture the steak’s juiciness on my picture but I guess I’m too slow to capture it. Haha!
While Meat Depot is certainly not a classy restaurant (it’s a self-service restaurant), it’s definitely a good and budget-friendly steak house. It also serves other types of meat like lambs and sausages.
