Gloria Maris is a restaurant famous among the Chinese community. Its main branch is located at Greenhills which offers both shabu-shabu and fine dining. My bf is a fan of their shabu-shabu so we’re a frequent visitor of their GH branch.
Our usual orders are Fresh Beef Ball (Php 180.00), Shrimp Wanton (Php 180.00) and Watercrest (Php 170.00). For today, we also tried their Sliced Ostrich Meat (Php 318.00) and Baked Pork Buns (Php 175.00). They have great selections on their menu but since we can only eat that much, we have to limit our order.
For the base soup, we always go for their Sate Soup in Pot (Php 258.00). The sate is a bit spicy but contributes a lot to the flavor of the soup. If your planning to order rice and put some soup on your rice, the Sate Soup in Pot will be a good choice.
Their Fresh Beef Ball are huge and tastes better than most of the beef balls I’ve tried on other shabu-shabu and dimsum restaurants. Their Shrimp Wanton is so-so. I’m not much of a wanton fan but bf likes it so… :p And for the Sliced Ostrich Meat, I must say that it is expensive. It tastes good though. The meat is tender and tastes just like beef but I guess more healthy? I didn’t regret ordering it.
Both of us really enjoys eating watercrest. If you think of it, the watercrest shouldn’t have much taste since it’s just trunks and leaves but I don’t know. It tastes good for us.
The Baked Pork Buns is something new on their menu and I’m quite surprise that it tastes good. The bread is soft and has a milky flavor. It is also covered by a light sweet glaze. The inside is fully stuffed with pork asado and a flavorful sauce.
Unfortunately, they don’t offer a house tea. And so we have to order a Jasmine Tea. Teas are great for clearing a human’s palate.
I guess a big plus on Gloria Maris is actually their place. Their restaurant is very clean and well-spaced. I seldom take pictures inside the toilet but I have to on this one just to show how clean it is. Most of the times, there is also a janitress inside the toilet to hand you a tissue when you wash your hand. Check it out!
One downside though is that their food are expensive. But for me, the overall experience of eating there are worth their price.
Now, time for some cooking!
