UPDATE as of June 27, 2017: This restaurant is now Dexter’s Lab.
I only know a few cafes which serve good breads / sandwiches in Manila and D’ Toasteria Cafe has just earned a spot in my belly! Self-proclaimed as Manila’s home for grilled cheese, D’ Toasteria Cafe takes pride on their imported cheese ingredients. They specialize with cheese-based paninis, pastas and omelets. The cafe is also for health-conscious as they do not use any MSG.
The first on our list is their Philly Steak Panini (Php 190.00). It comes with an optional Fries and Iced Tea for an additional of Php 80.00. I really love how they’re very generous in the fillings of their panini. The panini was stuffed with onion, bell pepper, cheese, fresh basil, honey mustard and a lot of grilled sirloin steak! You can really taste the meat. Their fries is also very addicting.
Next, we had their Carbonara (Php 220.00). It is topped with a raw egg yolk and you have to mix it while it is still hot. The serving is also plentiful and is good for 2 persons.
And of course, my favorite dish of the day: Three Cheese Omelet (Php 180.00)! It is soft in the inside and has a very striking smoky flavor which came from the smoked Gouda Cheese. Definitely a must-try!
Some trivia: D’ Toasteria Cafe’s head chef is the same ex-chef of the highly popularize Toasteria Cafe in Taiwan. After 8 years of working at Taiwan, he came back to the Philippines to build his own restaurant.
