My boyfriend and I have been at Cibo in Greenbelt 5 a few times already ordering only pastas and breads. Being an Italian restaurant, we thought Cibo is all about pastas. Well, we’re wrong. Last week, we took advantage of their New Year’s promo to try out their other dishes at a reduced price. Since the promo is already over, I’ll only be indicating their original prices.
Day 1 – Tagliata di Manzo: Aglio Rosmarino (Php 470.00). The beef is tender and easily breaks apart. It is flavorful with a strong taste of rosemary. Really aromatic. This is my new favorite at Cibo.
For the dessert, we had the Panna Cotta: Mango (Php 185.00). It is creamy and slightly sweet.
Day 2 – Spinaci Zola (Php 255.00). Mini toasted breads with Spinach dip. At least, that was what we thought. As we dip our bread on the mashed spinach, we’re surprise to learn that the it tastes like cheese more than spinach. It’s a good snack but one order is not enough so we decided to go for another one.
Aside from it, we also ordered Costolette D’ Agnello (Php 535.00) because we’re hungry and craving for more. I normally stay away from lambs, but because of my good experience with their Tagliata di Manzo, I decided to give their lamb dish a chance and I’m glad I tried it. Unlike the normal lamb dishes I’ve tried before, the lamb taste on the Costolette D’ Agnello is more refined. It still has the distinct lamb taste but it’s not too strong. The lamb is also tender and the sauce is just as good. This is my boyfriend’s favorite at Cibo.
Day 3 – Uva Nera (Php 130.00). I seldom find a grape shake so I find Uva Nera unique. Of course, it taste like grapes but only sweeter.
We also ordered for Lombatine Di Malate (Php 390.00) and Prosciutto di Parma (Php 390.00). The pork chop is a bit tough but its sauce is good. On the other hand, I’m a bit disappointed with the pizza. It tastes ordinary despite its good presentation. But then again, my boyfriend likes it so it could just be me.
Day 4 – Crema di Zucca (Php 215.00). We love soups so we know we could not just let go of trying Crema di Zucca. The pumpkin soup is good but nothing extraordinary about it.
However, the Torta Di Ciocco Matto (Php 245.00) is love. The chocolate cake is a bit on the dark side. I also love how the raspberry complements it.
Day 5 – Penne al Telefono (Php 355.00). The pasta is perfectly cooked. It is slightly chewy: not mushy and not hard. The sauce for Penne al Telefon is melted cheese with stewed tomato.
While waiting for the pasta, we also got ourselve a complementary chips. 🙂
Cibo is expensive but they offer great dishes that will make you crave for more. I wish they can have more promos so we can eat here more frequently.
