Caffe Dolce: A Vegan Restaurant

Hungry and starving, my boyfriend and I decided to stop at Caffe Dolce. We wanted to eat something healthy, as of the moment, and we thought we can get a healthy treat from a coffee shop. Maybe a pasta or so long as it’s not a red meat. We were surprise to learn that Caffe Dolce is more than just a coffee shop. They’re a vegan restaurant. They use veggie meats for all their meats.

While their first floor is an eat-all-you-can buffet, they also offer an a la carte menu on their 2nd floor. We opted to have their a la carte menu instead.

They also have a VIP room on which you can booked for Php 4,000.00 worth of consumables.

Back to the food, here’s our order:

Mushroom Soup (Php 145). Although their Mushroom Soup is not thick and creamy, I like the taste of their soup. It has a milky flavor and I can feel some small beads on my soup. Not sure if that is pepper.

Cucumber Salad (Php 105.00). Knowing that Caffe Dolce is a veggie restaurant, I thought it’s a must to try their salad and I’m glad we did. Their Cucumber Salad is presented in 4 pieces. Each cucumber salad is bundled with a lettuce, some mangoes and other stuffs. It also came with a dip which the waitress told us is a passion fruit mixed with mayonnaise. My boyfriend commented on how the Cucumber Salad reminded him of maki sushi.

Pumpkin Risotto (Php 245.00). Their pumpkin risotto may look small in the picture but, mind you, this can be good for two people. The deepness of their plate compensates for its small size. I’m not picky in terms of risotto since it’s one of my favorite rice meals, but I think they can still improve their risotto by making it more cheesy or mozzeralla-ly. Although, it’s just a preference.

Sundried Tomato Pesto (Php 205.00). If you like plain oiled pasta then you might like this one. It comes with a tomato tempura. This one is for my boyfriend since he enjoys pesto pastas.

After getting our bill, we realized that it costs us more compared to the Php 299.00 per head eat-all-you-can buffet they’re offering downstairs. Now, did we regret it? No. They’re a la carte menu has more selections and we’re contented with our orders. But if you’re planning to order something that they also have in their eat-all-you-can buffet then, by all means, you should choose their eat-all-you-can.
