Bistro Kalzada: A Taste of Mexico and Peru

UPDATE as of June 27, 2017: Bistro Kalzada moved to Savour Manila Tomas Morato and is now serving Chinese food.

Although, I’ve tried some tacos before, I’ve never been to a full-fledged Mexican restaurant so I’m not sure what to expect when my boyfriend and I went to Bistro Kalzada. Bistro Kalzada is a restaurant near Maginhawa Street, Quezon City which specializes in Mexican food but also offers Peruvian cuisine on the side.

Watching while our food is being prepared. 😀

One of the ingredients they’re using to keep the authenticity of their food.

For our appetizer, we tried their Crispy Tortilla with Salsas (Php 160.00). It comes with 5 different types of salsas (which may vary depending on the season): Pico de Gallo, Piña Salsa, Cola Chili Sauce, Parmesan Mayo and Shiracha Mayo. I like how their tortilla chips is not greasy as I don’t have to worry cleaning my hands after eating. The corn flavor on their tortilla is also stronger compared to the other tortillas I tried before which make their tortilla tastes a lot better.

For our entrée, we had their Mozzarella Quesadilla (Php 165.00) which is oozing with cheese. *Drools* I must say, this one is my favorite! I also love how their quesadilla wrapper has just the right amount of chewiness and thickness. Seriously, Bistro Kalzada’s quesadilla just raise my bar higher for quesadillas.

Another entrée we had is Carnitas Enchiladas (Php 175.00) or Pork Enchiladas. It reminds me on how pork and beans tastes like.

Another must try is their Peruvian Roasted Chicken in Aji Verde & Chimichurri Rice (Php 175.00). This one is really bursting with flavors. Probably because of the different herbs used to cook it.

And because I have a different for compartment for dessert, here is their Churros with Vanilla Ice Cream (Php 80.00). XD

I just discovered that I have a penchant for Mexican foods and will definitely be back here. The owners of Bistro Kalzada is also very friendly. They are hands-on in managing their restaurant from preparing to cooking to serving the food to the guests. Thank you, Mark, Irish and Marge, for accommodating us! 🙂
